Nights at Palau Güell
Enjoy summer nights on the roof of Palau Güell with the best music and privileged views
Palau Güell celebrates Palau Güell nights, which have become one of the most special and unique events on summer nights in Barcelona. The evenings take place on July 1, 8, 15 and 22 on the magical and unrepeatable roof terrace of the Palau, where for the first time the architect Antoni Gaudí conceived the chimneys as architectural sculptures.
Each evening includes a concert by a band with a different style: from jazz and blues to later musical styles such as doo wop or Jamaican jazz. Before the concert, the visitors discover, through an express visit, the most important spaces of this urban dwelling that the industrialist Eusebi Güell commissioned from his friend Gaudí. The property, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1984, stands out both for the innovative way in which Gaudí conceived space and light, as well as for the excellent quality of the noble materials used and the decorative and ornamental work of the craftsmen who collaborated with the architect.
Once on the roof, visitors can admire one of the most precious spaces. From here, they enjoy a spectacular view of the city. This view, at the time of the Güells, was only contemplated by the service - who went up to spread the clothes - or by the Güell family itself when they wanted to show the guests the landscape of the city under construction. This panoramic view can be admired from a fanciful setting, with the conical spire that crowns the Palau and the twenty chimneys around it, some of them covered with the trencadís technique.
